Fall 2020 Information

Fall 2020 Information

Hello Storm Families

As a follow up to my last email about schedule, we would like to outline some of the procedures we have in place to meet Soccer NS and Public Health Guidelines.

Firstly, while Dr. Strang has indicated an easing of restrictions on Sports, we are still awaiting further details from Soccer NS. Presently we are not expecting to see any league play for a little while yet. However, we are expecting to be able to be able to do larger scrimmages and inter team play. We are also hoping that we will be able to host some ‘friendlies’ with other clubs. More to come once we receive direction from Soccer Nova Scotia.

In the meantime, soccer will look similar to what we did this summer. As we are still in a pandemic, we need your help to keep our players and volunteers safe while we play.

Some Key Points to remember:

  • Online Health Questionnaires must be completed by 7pm on Friday night for each practice. You will receive an email from ClassMarker to complete the questionnaire.
  • At this time, there are still no spectators allowed to maintain the overall person threshold.
  • While restrictions are being eased, we still encourage players to practice physical distancing when not playing. There will be lots of hand sanitizing and equipment will be disinfected after each practice.
  • Each team has their own colour field (see below)
  • Drop off to the field is at the sidewalk plaza in front of the field and there are designated meeting areas for each field (see below). Players are asked to stay at their designated meeting area while awaiting their coach to allow them onto the field (this would be a similar process to the drop off points in the summer where coaches met the players before sending them onto the field).
  • Players are to enter the field through the entrance at the left side of the field and will be exiting through the gate on the right side of the field. (see below).
  • Practices start at different times, so to avoid large groups and mixing of players, please only drop off your players within the 10 minutes leading up to the practice start time (see schedule below)

Attached you will find some handy check lists for Parents/Guardians and Players. These will give you some additional guidance on how to prepare for practice.

If you have any questions or comments, please do not hesitate to reach out to us at stormsoccerclubcomms@gmail.com

See you on the pitch
