Our new target net has arrived!

Storm is excited to announce that we now have a piece of equipment that has been on our "wish" list for quite a while, a target net! Generously sponsored by Horizon Court Properties, it was put to the test by an eager group of players. Read on for more details.....

Thanks to the generous sponsorship of Horizon Court Properties, Storm Soccer Club now has an important tool in our equipment inventory that will help with our player's development. Horizon Properties is a Canadian Company with European roots that owns and manages a group of properties here in Dartmouth. Continuing to establish roots in the community, Horizon provided Storm with the funds needed to acquire the new target practice net.

Equipment Manager Coach Stuart Thompson took proud possession of the net last week and was keen to get it up and running. Measuring 24' x 8' with 7 scoring zones, it fits the goal at Eric Graves like a glove. Certainly an item that will provide hours of fun to our members, it is also is an essential coaching tool to develop soccer player’s shooting and passing accuracy. Win - win!

A group of our U12 Boys, U13B Girls and U15A Boys were on hand to have a trial run with the new net and the competition heated up quickly. What began as a friendly series of drills / contests designed by Coach Stuart quickly evolved into a lively "girls vs boys" competition. (Not quite sure who was declared the overall winner...?) Starting next week, the target net will be available for teams to sign out and use for their own "friendly" competition.

Huge gratitude is extended to Horizon Court Properties for making this happen for Storm. We predict countless hours ahead this summer season for our players of all ages!
