Congratulations to our U12B Boys, who battled their way to a silver medal at the Wanderers Friendship Cup in Fredericton, NB! The sun was shining all weekend, bringing with it 30 degree heat and sweltering playing conditions.....but it didn't stop our determined U12B Boys from bringing home the hardware!
The players, Coaches Paul Black, Greg Bonnell, Pat Ferguson, parents and siblings rolled into Fredericton on Friday evening and settled in for what turned out to be 6 games in two days.
The team got off to a great start, hit the ground running and won their first match. Game #2 was a squeaker, by all accounts, but they were victorious again. The scorching heat was still not a deterrent, as they went on to win their third match and tie their fourth.
After re-hydrating, re-grouping, and relaxing at the hotel Saturday night, the boys awoke Sunday morning determined. With a hard fought win in the fifth game, they made it to the finals, where they were rewarded with a silver medal! Congratulations to the boys for an amazing showing, thanks to the coaches for leading the charge!
