Storm Soccer is a not-for-profit, volunteer-led organization. The Club’s mission is to provide inexpensive and accessible soccer which is open to children, regardless of age, ability, or skill level, by using dedicated training methods (those put in place by Canada Soccer).  Our program has been designed to promote a fun and energetic style of play, enabling the youth from our community to reach their full potential in the sport, whilst building true camaraderie.

Due to being volunteer led, Storm Soccer Club is always looking for new coaches.  We want to ensure that as we continue to grow the Club, we also continue to improve the experience and the programs we offer to all the children and players who register with us. We want to be able to offer an experience that has our players coming back not only because of the love of the game, but the educational experience we provide, the experienced coaches who help guide them and a Club who fully supports them (no matter what role they hold).

All those who volunteer for Storm do so because they are passionate about the sport (and our Club), some also volunteer for Storm in order to gain experience coaching.

We want to ensure the experience our coaches receive not only helps to support their decision making on the field, but also guide them through the opportunities for furthering their coaching prospects should they so choose.

Storm Soccer will reimburse the cost of coaching courses for Certification levels C and B.

All coaches must complete Making Ethical Decisions (MED) and Respect in Sport before working with players. MED and Respect in Sport are only taken once. If you have completed these courses from coaching another sport, your certifications can be transferred.

All coaches must complete a Canadian Police Information Check (CPIC), including a Vulnerable Sector Check as well as a Nova Scotia Child Abuse Registry check and submit these documents to our HR/Risk Board member. Storm will cover the cost of the CPIC up to a maximum amount of $30 and you can complete your CPIC conveniently online.
